A revised version of wiffleball pitching instructions. NOTE: This video is not meant to prove that I am an awesome wiffleball pitcher. The goal is to give a more personal and insightful look at the intricate look at the complex nature of throwing a hunk of plastic with nasty curves. These tips are ones that worked for me, as can be seen by the video. If they do not help you, or you think they are stupid, please keep your remarks to yourself. Any questions, etc., leave a comment or send a message. Thank you. Remember: To get a ball to move like this you must first scuff it. You can use cement, asphalt, sidewalk, sandpaper or brick to remove the slickness from the ball. You will need to experiment with different balls and forms of scuffing, but here is a general example on how to scuff a ball: 1.) Scuff the entire ball on a sidewalk so that the surface is not smooth anymore and all logos are rubbed off. 2.) In a circular motion, start from the poles (top and bottom of the ball) and create a scuff "ring" (imagine what an onion looks like) going around the ball. Do on both hole and non hole side, but slightly more on the non hole side. 3.) Alternate between vertical and horizontal scuffing on the poles to create a criss cross pattern that is slightly more scuffed than the rest of the ball.
